At its heart is the colonial town of Paraty, where cobbled streets, historic churches, restaurants, artist’s studios and boutiques few can resist. Direct from the house’s private pier you can swim with shoals of colourful fish, spot turtles and, if you’re lucky, a passing pod of dolphins. Relax in the shade of the veranda and watch kingfishers and herons perched in the surrounding trees as they dive for fresh fish in the crystal clear water. Hummingbirds flit between tropical flowers.

Walk to beaches along a winding footpath or explore the incredible natural surroundings by private boat. Casa Cairucu is fully equipped for exclusive hire, perfect for honeymooners looking for something very private or for families or groups of friends for six to eight people.

The house comes with its own boatman, remote concierge and a private housekeeper to ensure every need is met and guests can spend the time relaxing and enjoying this very special part of the world. There is also the option to join an expert forager guide to explore the surrounding forest and pick ingredients to create a delicious lunch using new and exciting wild food recipes.

The house is contemporary in style with a local twist. Dark wood floors are offset by crisp, white organza curtains that sway in the ocean breeze. Paraty is only 20 minutes away and, in the other direction, are some of the region’s most beautiful beaches.

The house can sleep six to eight guests in three rooms that can be configured as a double or twin with extra single beds if necessary. Every room is en suite with ocean views. Sliding doors in the open-plan living/dining room open out to the sea and a fireplace provides warmth and a cosy retreat during the occasional chilly night.
