Estancia Cristina
Estancia Cristina enjoys one of the finest and most remote locations in Patagonia. Only accessed by boat, the estancia is perched on the northwest shore of the Argentino Lake, deep in Los Glaciares National Park. This enviable position gives guests who stay here exclusive access to the Upsala Glacier, one of the most stunning viewpoints on the continent.
Estancia Cristina was founded in 1914 by Joseph Percival Masters, who came to Patagonia from England with his wife in search of a new and promising future in farming. Over time, the farm expanded into 22,000 hectares of successful sheep and cattle breeding. Today the estancia is owned by the National Park and is a necessary crossing point for many research scientists exploring the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
The estancia has 20 rooms distributed over five cabins with stunning views of the magnificent Patagonian landscape. The lodge is simple and rustic with a warm and cosy atmosphere. Keen fishermen can enjoy fantastic fishing between November and April and those who enjoy walking, riding, mountain-biking or off-road drives in a 4×4 will be in heaven here.
