Hotel B, Lima

The stunning, Belle Epoque mansion was built as a private home in 1914 and re-opened as a boutique hotel in May 2013. There are 20 spacious and stylish rooms spread between the original ‘casona’ and an adjoining comtemporay extension. The owner is passionate about art and over 250 pieces created by Latin American artists are dotted around the hotel, making this a wonderful place to stay for anyone who has an interest in the arts.

The 1920s bar provides a calm and sophisticated space in which to enjoy one of the delicious cocktails on offer or retire to library for a spot of afternoon tea. We love the rooftop terrace, with its distant view of the ocean beyond the rooftops.

Hotel B is located in the historic neighbourhood of Barranco making it the perfect place from which to explore some of Lima’s up-and-coming culture and art scene. In fact, on this street alone there are six art galleries that are well worth seeing. For those with a morning or afternoon to spare, Hotel B also runs its own bespoke experiences, from Peruvian cookery classes and cocktail making to a private sail on the Pacific ocean in the hotel’s 1930s yacht.
