Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
Hidden deep in one of Peru’s largest Reserves and perched on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, this property is a bird-lover’s paradise with over 540 bird species that have been spotted in the Tambopata Reserve alone.
There are 35 wooden cabanas that offer a cosy and private retreat for every guest. Each has been designed to reflect a sense of the local culture. The suite offers a private plunge pool and almost all of the cabanas have a private deck on which to rest in privacy and listen to the awesome sounds of the rainforest.
The Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a bridge system at 30 meters above the ground, allows those with a head for heights to experience the Amazon from a lofty canopy walkway. Boat rides and rainforest trails are all part of the experience and taken in small groups with passionate and knowledgeable guides. It is astounding to watch their well-trained eyes spot the smallest of creatures attempting to hide in the foliage.
Families travelling with children will not regret making the journey here and staff and guides love nothing more than to inspire the next generation. They will open up a world of wildlife, native traditions and how to decipher the attributes of primary and secondary rainforest. Geography lessons have never been so much fun!
