Erebero Hills

Opening in August 2026, Erebero Hills brings a stylish, fresh perspective to gorilla trekking in the lush Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Set on the northern fringe, Erebero Hills is the ideal haven for venturing into the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorilla population and one of the most biodiverse places in the world. Here guests enjoy sweeping forest views beside a roaring fire, or from the hillside swimming pool on warmer days. Erebero Hills combines sustainable luxury with the thrill of observing one of the world’s most endangered species in its natural habitat.

Eight modern, glass fronted suites made of sustainable materials feature double or twin beds within an open plan integrated bedroom and lounge with a much appreciated boot room entrance. Each en-suite bathroom has both indoor and outdoor showers, double sinks, a freestanding bath with a view, and complimentary toiletries. And it is not just the bath that has a heart stopping view, but guests can embrace views of the surrounding montane forest and across the valley from every aspect of their suite.

The communal area is an architectural delight, elevated on wooden stilts with an infinity pool at one end beneath a dramatic cliff face. Expansive viewing decks are guaranteed to optimise the sensational forest views, with outside seating where guests can relax and admire the dramatic surroundings. There will be great opportunities to spot birdlife from your sun lounger so binoculars should always be close to hand.

A variety of activities are available from Erebero Hills including gorilla trekking, Batwa community visit, nature walks for birding, butterflies, and waterfalls, garden tours, tea tasting, a reforestation walk and talk, and Batwa community visit. The Batwa are the original forest dwellers of this region, with ancient customs and hunting-and-gathering techniques that have survived for thousands of years. Community visits are an important way of recognising Batwa heritage, and time spent with them will open guests eyes to their culture by learning some of their core skills of beadwork, weaving, candle, and soap making.
