Khem Villas

Khem Villas is a charming privately owned and run wilderness camp on the boundary of Ranthambore National Park. Offering guests a strong sense of place with an underlying focus on active community involement.

A stones throw from the entrance gates of Ranthambore National Park, Khem Villas enjoys 35 acres of pristine jungle land with lush vegetation and six small ponds – a haven for local wildlife such as foxes, crocodiles, deer, jungle cats and jackals which can often been seen in camp.

Guests are hosted by a charming team and co-owner, Usha. There is an elegant, understated simplicity throughout Khem Villas reminiscent of a bygone era.

Twelve spacious cottages can be found along meandering pathways shaded by towering trees. Each cottage enjoys comfortable interiors, using Anokhi textiles, with both indoor and outdoor bathrooms, soft indoor seating area and shaded verandah. For a more “jungle” feel, there are eight luxury tented suites with a more minimal style using bamboo and wood they have a rustic charm without compromising on comfort. For those looking for the most space and privacy Khem Villas has two private villas. These villas are on the highest part of the property overlooking the Ranthambhore escarpment, open grassland and forest. The Villas have a large private sun deck with Hot Spa tub.

Khem Villas offers exclusively vegetarian cuisine using home grown, organic ingredients – simple, nutritious and tasty. Each evening sundowners are enjoyed under the stars, around the firepit before enjoying one of the many delicious vegetarian dishes.

Within the grounds guests can take a guided walk with the in-house naturalist who will educate you on the property’s flora and fauna while pointing out resident fruit bats and crocodiles.

Khem Villas is not only a great spot to springboard onto a wildlife safari but also support local NGO’s to safeguard the future of Ranthambore and those that live in the local communities around it. We will always highly recommend our guests to visit to the nearby Dhonk Crafts, a local social enterprise created to encourage local women, mainly belonging to “Mogiya Tribes” into the craft industry. The Mogiya tribe have been one of the main tribes engaged in poaching of Tigers from inside Ranthambhore. This enterprise hopes to provide these families in alternate employment so that they can slowly wean themselves away from poaching.
