Singita Grumeti
Singita Grumeti is an exclusive private reserve located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park in the path of the famed wildebeest migration. Offering unparalleled levels of African luxury, there are just four superb permanents lodges and one mobile camp within 350,000 acres of magnificent wilderness.
Singita Grumeti’s five accommodation options are some of the finest in East Africa, with Singita’s stamp of five star luxury and the highest levels of service and guiding. Found on top of the hill, with sweeping views of the plains below, Singita Sasakwa Lodge is the most sumptuous, comprising nine suites and one villa, styled as colonial manor houses, with fireplaces, antique bath tubs, wrap-around veranda and private plunge pools. Between game drives, guests can take tea in the garden sunroom, shoot billiards on a nineteenth-century table, and other diversions include an archery range and a stable of horses.
Below on the seemingly endless open plains, the reinvented Sabora Tented Camp offers the ultimate in luxury under canvas, with nine stunning tented suites, the epitone of modern simplicity and style. Each suite acts as a treasure trove for rare and unusual artifacts, including Persian rugs, Zanzibari chests, as well as blankets and traditional beadwork crafted by the Maasai people of northern Tanzania.
Singita Faru Faru Lodge overlooks a natural waterhole and the tree line of the Grumeti River. The nine stone, canvas and thatched suites (including a family suite and a 2-bedroom villa) have the air of a classic safari camp, yet the interiors offer the ultimate in contemporary chic with panoramic glass windows, mirrored room dividers and claw-foot baths.
For family or friends looking for privacy, there are two further options. Singita Serengeti House is an exclusive-use retreat with four magnificent suites, or for those with a mind for adventure, Singita Explore is a private use mobile camp, set up on a request basis for a maximum of 12 guests, aiming to get guests as close as possible to the famed Great Wildebeest Migration.
As you would expect at some of the world’s leading luxury safari camps, beautiful interiors are teamed with first class dining and high quality staff, with discerning attention to detail throughout. Activities are tailored to each individual party, catering to all ages. Game drives are superb, with abundant wildlife, and being outside of the National Park, guests can also enjoy night-drives, bush walks, mountain biking and horse-riding safaris.
