Strand Hotel Swakopmund

Strand Hotel Swakopmund is set directly on the promenade in Swakopmund, surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. On the fourth side, it backs up to the town’s central park, through which it is a short five minute walk to the historic centre of this charming colonial seaside town, with all its shops, cafés, restaurants and bars.

The Strand Hotel Swakopmund’s architectural inspiration finds its roots deep in Namibian German history and reflects this in a tasteful contemporary manner. The interiors are natural, warm and comfortable, one as charming and welcoming as the town it is located in.

The hotel’s 125 guest rooms overlook either the ocean or the gardens. Standard Rooms offer all the comfort you need, with modern bathrooms and floor to ceiling windows, or for that little bit extra, Luxury Rooms feature “step-out” Romeo & Juliet balconies with ocean facing views. Inter-connecting rooms are also available for families. Nine suites offer the finest ocean views from their balconies and terraces, seating areas, and even more space in which to relax.

The Strand Hotel has three great restaurants, each with their own sea facing terrace, as well as a lobby lounge, beer garden and beach kiosk. Each is unique and creatively entertaining, offering a different dining experience. ‘Brewer and Butcher’ specialises in Namibian, German and other meat dishes and features its own “craft” beer and on site micro-brewery, whilst Ocean Cellar, with its open show-kitchen, specialises in fresh seafood, including Namibian oysters and sushi or sashimi.

Finally, for some downtime, the hotel’s Atlantic Spa, focuses on relaxation and renewal using the healing powers of the Atlantic ocean & the vast Namib desert. It offers a wide choice of massage therapies, plus sauna, steam rooms and a well-equipped gym.
