Villa des Orangers

Get away for a dream vacation and dive into an oasis of calm and freshness in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech. At the foot of the Koutoubia Mosque, between the Royal Palace and bustling Jemaa El Fna Square, the Villa des Orangers 5* hotel opens up to you like a jewel of serene, quiet living.

Villa des Orangers is a charming hotel in an exceptional location from which to explore the medina of Marrakech. Villa des Orangers has 27 rooms and suites, and is a member of the Relais & Châteaux chain. Built in the Thirties, the riad was a private home until 1998, when it was transformed into a luxury hotel, combining tradition and refined decoration maintaining the homes original personality. Renovations took nine months, all the work carried out by skilled Marrakech craftsmen according to local tradition in order to maintain the hotels local character.

The airy riad, is an oasis of calm and coolness set around a large garden and three flowered patios with fountains, each leading to galleries with carved plaster archways. The finewood used to make the Moroccan-style furniture and the iridescent colours of the decoration harmoniously create an elegant setting in a refined, calm atmosphere.

On the first floor, suites with private terraces open on to the medina. The roof, fitted with a pool, gardens and solariums, dominate the old city, the Koutoubia mosque, and have an unobstructed view of the Atlas mountains. The three lounges all have a fireplace creating a warm, friendly atmosphere, a great place to relax in a tranquil setting.

Guests are invited to eat a light lunch around the pools, on the terraces or in the shade of the orange trees on the patio. In the evening, the restaurant is also open to non-residents; dinner in the form of Mediterranean-style food made by the young talented chef, Jean-Claude Olry, and a typically Moroccan dishes of the day, is served by candlelight.
