Flor Blanca is flanked by unspoiled tropical jungle and seven acres of world famous surf that rolls onto the coast of the Nicoya Peninsula.
Twelve private bungalows are stylishly designed with a fusion of Balinese and Latin American interiors and verandas looking out into lush, tropical rainforest. The property is well known for its yoga and pilates lessons that are delivered by internationally trained instructors in a studio overlooking the jungle.
Surfing and stand-up-paddle boarding is offered to guests of all levels and boards are free to use with professional instructors on hand. Inland, a variety of excursions are available from horseback riding to zip-lining in the jungle canopy with distant Pacific views or rock jumping above waterfalls and diving into freshwater pools. Local naturalist guides are on hand to escort guests into the reserve and show them a world of fascinating plant and animal life. Birdwatchers will be in heaven here and ocean fishing can also be arranged in search of tuna, mahi mahi, snapper, grouper and roosterfish. Bring your catch back in the evening and the chef will be delighted to prepare a delicious dish made with your very own catch of the day.
Back at the lodge, the food is excellent with fresh fish hauled straight out of the ocean and into the kitchen combined with fresh vegetables from the local farms.
