Hacienda de San Antonio is part of the Goldsmith family's portfolio of luxury private retreats in Mexico.
Not long into the drive from Colima airport a volcano so perfectly formed, it looks like a kid’s drawing appears on the scene – the first indication that you are nearing the Goldsmith family’s 5000 acre private nature reserve. Everything about Hacienda de San Antonio feels decadent and ‘other worldly’. You half expect Gatsby himself to appear at the rooftop bar and order a gin cocktail.
The gardens are exquisite with a backdrop of the ‘perfect’ Colima volcano piercing the sky. When guests are not relaxing by the vast swimming pool, the Hacienda can arrange for private explorations of the reserve and coffee plantations on foot, bike or horseback. There is also a tennis court, golf course, spa and in-house yoga instructor.
The rooms are extremely stylish, some with private balconies and others with a patio facing the gardens. Fire places are lit in cooler months and in the summer, French doors allow the breeze to catch organza curtains.
