Le Quartier Francais
Le Quartier Français is a romantic 28-room boutique hotel set in the heart of the picturesque village of Franschhoek in South Africa’s Cape Winelands. Its central location makes it an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding winelands, whilst being just a short walk from Franschhoek's many wonderful shops and restaurants.
The 11 individually styled Auberge Rooms and three Grande Rooms offer a classic country style with contemporary touches. Rooms have modern en suite bathrooms, comfortable seating and lovely views of either the central courtyard and its swimming pool or the surrounding mountains. The five Petite Garden Suites look out onto their own secret corner garden, and the two Pool Suites have pull out beds for children and their own courtyard private plunge pool. These are also very popular for honeymooners.
Adjacent to the original auberge and with a much more modern feel, you’ll find the Four Quarters Suites set around a private courtyard. These four suites are enormous, with a large sitting room leading into an equally generously sized bedroom, and come with all the mod cons including their own butler.
Finally for the ultimate in exclusivity, there is also a three bedroom self-contained private villa, which comes with its own swimming pool and garden.
As expected when staying in the culinary capital of Franschhoek, the food here does not disappoint. Protégé is a casual-style eatery which recognises talented young chefs, complemented by the world renowned La Petite Colombe with its ground breaking epicurean menu. Those in need of pampering can indulge in a selection of rejuvenating massages at the Leeu Spa by Healing Earth, plus a stylish boutique and private cinema complete to the guest experience. There are a host of activities on offers in the Cape Winelands, including horse riding, wine-tasting on horseback, golf, fly-fishing or leisurely strolling around the quaint village shops.
