Santorini Mozambique

Overlooking the sandy beach of Kingfisher Bay, Santorini Mozambique is a luxury boutique hotel just north of Vilanculos town. Easily accessible from both the Kruger National Park and Johannesburg makes Santorini Mozambique an ideal place to relax post a Southern Africa safari.

Inspired by the white and blue colours synonymous with Greece but unequivocally Mozambican in warmth and hospitality, Santorini Mozambique is a little gem. Perched amongst thick vegetation with quick access to the sandy beach and warm ocean waters below.

Santorini Mozambique offers accommodation in four villas. The Main Villa is the heart of the property comprising of just five air conditioned en suite bedrooms, each with their own patio and can be taken individually. The main guest area enjoys a large, light lounge, bar and dining area with a separate guest kitchen and TV lounge. Externally there many hidden soft corners to relax in, including a tranquil pool courtyard, rooftop bar, spa and front patio with a second, smaller rim-flow swimming pool.

Three independent, exclusive use villas are located a short walking distance from the Main Villa. Villa Na Colina, a one bedroom villa with it’s own private courtyard and pool with ocean facing patio, is ideal for couples.  The Chapel, a two bedroom villa set slightly above the main villa, boasts it’s own host and personal chef. An open plan living area with enormous glass doors leads onto a spacious patio overlooking with a rim flow pool, loungers and outdoor seating and dining area with BBQ.  The largest villa, Villa Da Praia, has three suites overlooking the turquoise ocean. Similar to The Chapel in it’s offerings, with it’s own host and personal chef, but with the benefit of direct access to the beach below.

Each suite in both the Main Villa and each of the villas have elegant, stylish interiors with soft kikoy gowns, sarongs and a beach bag to be used during guests stay.

From the beach there are kayaks and stand-up paddle boards as well as a volleyball net and cricket kit. Snorkelling and fishing equipment can also be used, but the best snorkelling and fishing is found out on the archipelago which makes for the most stunning days adventure on Santorini’s catamaran with a picnic lunch.  Snorkelling, diving, deep sea fishing and horse riding is available year round and there are excellent opportunities to catch sailfish between March – September and Marlin between October – January. Humpback whales grace the shoreline between July and October. An absolute “must” is a sunset cruise on Santorini’s dhow to wave off the day and welcome the starry skies.

The in house chef creates unique dining opportunities using local produce, including their own vegetable garden. Beach picnics, light lunches in the shaded vegetable garden and al fresco dining under the stars. For wine lovers, there is an extensive wine cellar to explore and try some of the many wines, champagnes and malts.
